2.2.3. Abstractions: Activity C3
Activity description
The abstraction of water from a freshwater loch, where all of the abstracted water is discharged back to the same loch.
Standard conditions
- The discharge must not have a significant impact on the water environment as a result of:
(a) iridescence or sheen;
(b) discolouration;
(c) deposition of solids;
(d) increased foaming; or
(e) microbiological growth.
- No substances should be added to or allowed to enter the abstracted water prior to discharge to the loch.
- The temperature of the abstracted water should not be altered prior to discharge to the loch.
- The abstraction and the equipment used for the abstraction must not cause harm to fish.
