Flood Hazard Maps – User Needs Research

Closes 9 Nov 2025

Opened 16 Oct 2025

Overview

Our flood hazard maps show where flooding is likely to happen in Scotland for a range of present-day and future scenarios and are used to support decision making including to help partners, places and people avoid, adapt and act against flooding.

We are conducting discovery research to understand user needs for our flood hazard maps, ahead of planned work to update and improve the maps.

This survey is one part of that research, and aims to allow us to understand more about who uses  map information, why, how people use it, and how it could be improved.

If you use/access flood hazard map information we would like to hear your views (even if you don’t use the flood hazard maps on a frequent basis, we are still interested to hear from you) – please click on the link below to access the survey and get started.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete and is being undertaken by Progressive Partnership, an independent research company, on its survey platform.

Thank you for your interest in this important research, which will be invaluable in ensuring SEPA understands users’ requirements before updating the maps.
