PPC/A/1085088 - Duncan Farms Ltd: Newton of Fortrie Poultry Farm, Turriff, AB53 4HL - Consultation under Environmental Authorisation (Scotland) Regulations 2018 (EASR)

Overview

Anyone who carries out an industrial activity under The Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations 2018 (EASR) must have an authorisation from SEPA. When we receive an application for a new industrial activity or to modify an existing industrial activity, as part of our determination we will consider the risks to the environment and human health. If we decide to grant an authorisation it will include conditions to:

  • Prevent or, where that is not practicable, minimise environmental harm;
  • Prevent and limit the consequences of accidents which could have an impact on the environment, and;
  • Use resources in a sustainable way.

The person authorised to carry on the activity must do so in accordance with the conditions of the authorisation.

We may also review the conditions of an existing authorisation from time to time to make sure they are still effective in achieving these aims.
