It is part of SEPA’s remit to maintain a high-quality environment by setting permit conditions which limit the impacts associated with installations operating under Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) Part A regulations.
Application details
We received an application from Elrig Eggs Ltd to vary their existing PPC permit (PPC/A/1142648) at Elrig Farm, Port William, Newton Stewart, DG8 9RB to increase bird numbers by 64,000. The additional birds will be housed in a new rearing unit at Low Killantrae. The rearing unit will consist of 2 parallel buildings with a capacity of 32,000 birds each. The proposed variation will increase total bird numbers to 240,000.
