It is part of SEPA’s remit to protect the marine environment. We regulate finfish farms through permits that limit the pollutants discharged to the water environment and, where appropriate, the amount of water which can be abstracted.

We received an application from Scottish Sea Farms Limited, (CAR/L/SEPA2021-100), on 5 February 2021 for a new marine pen fish farm north of Shuna Island at NM 9238 5025.

The applicant will place an advert in the national and local press. You have until 4 June 2021 to submit your objections.
