BAT is to periodically monitor odour emissions.
— EN standards (e.g. dynamic olfactometry according to EN 13725 in order to determine the odour concentration or EN 16841-1 or -2 in order to determine the odour exposure); — when applying alternative methods for which no EN standards are available (e.g. estimation of odour impact), ISO, national or other international standards that ensure the provision of data of an equivalent scientific quality. The monitoring frequency is determined in the odour management plan (see BAT 12).
The applicability is restricted to cases where an odour nuisance at sensitive receptors is expected and/or has been substantiated
